Terms of Service

The agreement between you and migrate.fi: what this service does, what it deliberately does not do, what the Relocation Pass includes, and how to get your money back.

2026-08-24

These terms are the agreement between you and migrate.fi. They are written to be read rather than skipped, and the first section is the one that matters most, because it says what this service is not. If anything here is unclear, write to support@migrate.fi and we will explain it. If a term strikes you as unfair, say so — we would rather hear it than have you find out later.

What this service is, and what it is not

migrate.fi is operated from Espoo, Finland, under business identity code (Y-tunnus) 3636874-7. These terms apply whenever you use the site, the assistant, the roadmap or the documents features, whether or not you have paid us anything.

What it is: a tool that builds a personal roadmap for a move to Finland and answers questions, linking the official page an answer came from wherever it rests on one. Once you have started a trial or bought a Pass, it also reads documents you upload, pulls the dates out of them, and reminds you before a deadline arrives.

What it is not, and this is the sentence to carry away: this service does not give legal advice, and it does not act on your behalf before Migri, Kela, DVV, Vero, the police or any other authority. It does not submit applications, it does not fill in forms for you, it does not represent you, and it is not a law firm or a licensed provider of legal services.

You file your own applications, in your own name. Every decision about your permit, your residence, your benefits or your taxes is made by an authority, on the basis of what you send them — never on the basis of anything written here. If your case is complicated, or a great deal is riding on it, talk to an immigration lawyer or a licensed adviser. We would rather say that plainly than have you lean on a task card.

The content, and how far you can trust it

Almost everything you read in the product — the task cards, the tips, the assistant's answers — is written by an AI model at the moment you ask for it. Most of it is written from official sources, and where a piece of it rests on one it links the page it came from. Where no official source was found, a task card or a tip says so on its face: it is labelled as written by AI rather than taken from an official source. A chat answer behaves differently — it lists the official pages it consulted, lists nothing when it consulted none, and carries no separate label, so there the absence of a source list is the signal.

The official page is the authority. Where it and anything here disagree, the official page is right and this service is wrong. Open the link and read it before you act on what you have read here.

We want to be exact about how this fails, because 'may contain errors' is too vague to be useful to anybody. The common failure is not an invented fact. It is a true, correctly-cited sentence that has quietly dropped a condition the official page attaches to it: a rule that only applies to certain applicants, a fallback that only exists for urgent cases, a requirement that needs three things to be true at once and reads here as though it needed one. So treat what you find here as a map and a set of links, not as the rule itself.

Do not act on a figure or a date you have seen only here. Fees, income thresholds, processing times and deadlines are set by the authorities and changed by them without telling us. We point at the page that states the current figure instead of copying it, precisely so that it cannot go stale — and where you see a figure anyway, check it against its link.

If something here is wrong, tell us at support@migrate.fi and say which page said it. We fix what we are told about, and it is the most useful message we get.

Your account

One account per person. Sign up with an email address you actually read: it is how we reach you about a deadline.

Answer the onboarding questions accurately. Your roadmap is built from those answers, so a wrong permit type or a wrong arrival date produces a wrong roadmap — and it will look exactly as confident as a right one.

Your password is yours to keep. Do not share the account, and write to support@migrate.fi if you think somebody else has got into it.

The account is meant for adults. If you are under 18, use it together with a parent or guardian.

Every account can be given a private mail address at inbox.migrate.fi. Anything sent there is stored in your account and read the same way an uploaded document is, so treat that address as part of your account and do not hand it around.

What is free

The assistant is free, and it stays free. There is no message quota to buy and no answer sitting behind a paywall.

There are limits on it, and they exist to stop scripts rather than to sell you anything: 50 messages a day and 500 in a calendar month on a free account. A person planning a move will not meet them. If you do meet one, it is a rate limit and not an invitation to upgrade, and we will not dress it up as one.

Before you have started a trial or bought a Pass, you also get your roadmap as a preview: the steps of your own move, by name and in order, without the detail behind them.

The trial

The trial runs for 7 days, takes no card, and starts only when you ask for it. Creating an account does not start it, and neither does building your roadmap — that clock would otherwise be running while you were still looking around.

It opens everything the Pass opens. It does not turn into a paid subscription: nothing is charged when it ends, and there is nothing to cancel.

One trial per account.

The Relocation Pass

The Pass is a single payment of €59 and lasts 12 months from the day you pay. It is the only thing we sell.

It opens your full roadmap with its details, dates and tracking; uploading and analysis of documents and of mail forwarded to your inbox address; and reminders before a deadline. The assistant is free either way, so the Pass does not buy you chat.

It is not a subscription. Nothing renews, nothing is charged again, and there is no cancellation to remember. When it runs out, it simply ends.

The price you see at checkout is the price you pay, and we add nothing to it. The payment is taken by Stripe on its own page; your card details never reach us.

A monthly subscription was sold in the past and is not sold any more. If you are on one of those older plans it keeps working as it did until it lapses.

When the trial or the Pass ends

Access goes read-only. Nothing is deleted: your roadmap, your documents and everything already generated for you stay visible, and the assistant stays free.

What stops is new AI work — no new task cards, no new tips, no analysis of a newly uploaded document, and no more reminders before a deadline.

That split is deliberate. A permit deadline you already had must not disappear behind a paywall, and we would rather give up the pressure that hiding it would create.

You can buy a Pass at any time afterwards, and everything opens again.

Changing your mind

If you are a consumer in the EU you have 14 days from the day you pay to withdraw from the purchase, without giving any reason.

Some services ask you to request immediate access expressly and, by doing so, to give that right up. We do not ask, and we do not want to: your access starts the moment you pay and you keep the whole withdrawal period anyway.

To use it, write to support@migrate.fi within that period and say you are withdrawing. We refund what you paid, in full, to the card you paid with. Your access to the paid features ends when the refund is made; your data stays where it is, and the free part of the service keeps working as before.

After that period the Pass is not refundable as a matter of course. Ask anyway if you think something went wrong — we would rather look at it than hide behind a clause — and nothing in this paragraph touches the rights you have as a consumer under the law.

How you may use it

Use it for your own move, and for your family's. That is what it is for.

Do not automate it. No scripts, no crawlers, no bulk extraction of the assistant's answers or of the generated content, and no reselling what comes out of it. The limits described above exist for exactly this, and we would rather tell you why they are there than pretend they are a feature.

Do not upload another person's documents unless you are entitled to act for them. A passport scan is not yours to hand over.

Do not use the service to break the law, and do not use it to prepare an application you know to be false. Nothing here will help you mislead an authority, and we will not help afterwards either.

Do not attack the service, its infrastructure or other people's accounts.

If you break this section we may suspend or close the account, and we will tell you why unless telling you would defeat the point of doing it. If we close a paid account for anything short of fraud or a deliberate attack, we refund the part of the Pass you did not get to use.

Availability, and changes to the service

We do not promise that the service is available without interruption. It runs on infrastructure that has outages, it depends on official sources that move their own pages, and we take it down sometimes in order to fix things.

Features change. We add things, we remove things that do not work, and we rewrite generated content when we find that it is wrong. If we withdraw something substantial that you paid for, write to us and we will refund the unused part of your Pass.

What we are responsible for, and what we are not

We are responsible for providing this service with reasonable care and skill, and for doing the things this document says we will do.

We are not responsible for the outcome of any application. A refusal, a delay, a fee you did not expect, a document an authority would not accept, a deadline that passed — those sit between you and that authority. This service controls none of them and promises no result.

Where we are liable to you at all, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us. If you have never paid us anything then that amount is nothing, which is the honest consequence of using a free service.

Nothing in this section limits what the law does not allow us to limit: liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, liability for fraud, and the mandatory rights you have as a consumer under Finnish law. Where a term here conflicts with one of those rights, the right wins and the term does not apply.

Ending it

You can stop at any time. Delete your account in Settings and it goes, together with the data described in the privacy notice. There is no notice period and no fee for leaving.

Deleting your account during a Pass does not by itself refund it — the section on changing your mind is the route for that.

We can close an account for a breach of the section on use, or where the law requires it. If we ever stop operating the service altogether, we will tell account holders by email before we do and refund the unused part of any Pass.

Which law applies, and where to complain

Finnish law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, that choice does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country you live in, and you may bring a case in the courts there.

Start with us: write to support@migrate.fi and describe the problem. Most things end there.

If that does not settle it, a consumer in Finland can get free advice from the Consumer Advisory Services of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (kkv.fi) and take the dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi), which decides it out of court. A complaint about how we handled personal data goes to the Data Protection Ombudsman instead; the privacy notice says how.

Otherwise, disputes under these terms go to the courts of Finland.

Changes to these terms

When we change something that matters here we change the date at the top of the page, and we tell account holders by email when the change affects what somebody has already paid for. A change never applies backwards to a purchase already made.
